Whole30: Day 7 – I “Cheated”
Does that title get your attention?
I “cheated” my Whole30 challenge by eating a spoonful of Greek yogurt in my dream. I usually never had any dream eating something so it was a bit bizarre. It could be because I was thirsty and our room was super stuffy and hot early morning.
Anyway, enough with yogurt. Can’t believe I’m already on Day 7 of this challenge and so far I don’t feel like I’m being restrained from eating anything. In fact, I actually enjoying it. I have less cravings, eat more mindfully and have constant energy level. The part of less hunger could be because of the hot weather lately, although today wasn’t too bad.
After I finished my morning workout, post workout meal/breakfast was 2 pieces of Chicken with C Seasonings paired up with chopped baked sweet potatoes and 3 slices of baked yucca root.
I had a bunch of tomatoes that I got on sale last week, some zucchini and yesterday I got some ground beef on sale, so I decided to make Zucchini Pasta with Meat Sauce. 😀 The tomato sauce was based on my homemade Tomato Paste recipe.
Honestly, I didn’t use grass fed ground beef cause they’re so expensive for my budget now ($5.99/lbs!). I usually don’t buy regular ground beef, but after seeing it on sale for $1.99/lbs, who could resist?
It was 85% lean which wasn’t too bad. All I needed to do just drain the fat away by sauteing them on high heat without any added oil for a while.
After I drained off the liquid and the fat, I wiped the pan with paper towel to get rid the excess oil. Then I heated up some avocado oil in medium high heat, saute some onions and shallots until fragrant then stirred in the cooked ground beef, seasoned with Spicy “Sausage” Seasoning Mix. Then I served it with julienne raw zucchini noodles with sauerkraut on the side.
Lunch was very rich and hearty meat sauce which kept me full for the entire afternoon!
Since I made quite a big batch of meat sauce in the afternoon, dinner was a breeze. I steamed some Chinese Broccoli (gailan) and roasted some cauliflower seasoned with salt, pepper, avocado oil, garlic powder and dried chives.
Dinner was super simple and filling! Can you tell how I love my sauerkraut that I just incorporate it in almost every meal? 😀
I posted a message regarding my dream of eating yogurt on Whole9 Facebook and surprisingly they responded that it’s actually pretty common having a dream eating “dirty” while doing Whole30. They might even want to do a post about it! Wow, who could have thought about that!
Whole30: Day 7 – An interesting day
Have you dreamed eating food that’s currently off limit to you?

Dream eating is no cheating, Jos! 😀
I haven’t dreamt of a certain off-limits food recently, but I remember I once had a very lively lasagna dream. (Very strange because I actually don’t even like lasagna so much – if I fall for something, it’s always the sweet stuff. ;))
Hi Girl! 🙂 I am glad you like sauerkraut :)))
I have never dreamed of food, but sometimes I smoke in my dreams. I gave up smoking after 11 years on 8th March 2010 (exactly 487 days ago, yay!) and I never wanted to smoke again since I stopped. But from time to time I do smoke in my dreams, and in those dreams I just light a cigarette and after a while I realize: OMG, I AM SMOKING!!! IT IS ALL RUINED!!! ALL MY HARD WORK AND DETERMINATIONS IS GONE!!! And it is always such a relieve when I wake up and realize it was all just a dream 😀
Sauerkraut is my favorite condiments now! 😀 Good job for you to quit smoking. I know it isn’t easy
I’m cracking up about your dream, I haven’t really dreamt about food before. But I have convinced myself that I won the lottery and then I’d wake up confused about where my money went!
Hahaha your dream cracked me as well!
