I had quite a good week and surprisingly my eats weren’t exactly on Paleo rail but I am not stressing about it. Gotta enjoy life a bit, right?

It started on Tuesday, when I had a luncheon with some of my colleagues at Grand Lux Cafe at the Beverly Center. As someone who doesn’t eat out that often, I just know that this restaurant has the same owner as The Cheesecake Factory.

I knew I could still eat according to Paleo template guideline, but I decided to go off the rail for a little bit by having 2 pieces of this Asian Chicken Nachos.

Goodness, when was the last time I had deep fried gluten crisp slathered with extremely sweet sauce and cheese? I won’t lie, it was pretty darn good though and I was happy I only had 2 pieces and be done with it.

For the main course, I had Cajun Shrimp and Chicken Jambalaya, subbed the white rice with green salad with dressing on the side (which I didn’t touch at all).

We chatted about work, life in general and enjoyed our out from the office time. To my surprise, nobody ordered desserts.

Then on Friday night, Hubby K and I decided none of us felt like puttering around in the kitchen and we decided to go to one of our go-to restaurant, Sweetee Thai Cuisine.

We come here couple times before just because we’re not super adventurous when eating out. Granted once we found a place that we like, we usually stick with it and usually order the same dishes..haha.

Typically when going to a Thai place, we usually order Pad Thai (my favorite) and Pad See Ew (Hubby K’s favorite).

But this time I ordered Tom Yum Goong Soup in a cup and Green Papaya salad.

Funny how they used a GIANT coffee mug for the soup..LOL..Who drinks this MUCH coffee? My old boss did.

It’s interesting how they cut the green papaya into noodle shape so looks like we ordered 3 noodle dishes.

The dish came with some peanuts which I picked out as much as possible.

I mostly ate my soup and salad and had little bites of the meats from the Pad See Ew and Pad Thai. Usually I would devour the noodles as well but this time I didn’t feel to do it so much.

Hubby K ate most of the Pad See Ew (he requested to have extra noodles as well) and we boxed some of the Pad Thai home.

On Saturday, it was windy and raining and we had to go out to take care our tax stuff and didn’t get back home until late afternoon. Both of us didn’t have any breakfast and lunch so pretty much you could say we both fasted until 3pm where we ate one big lunch meal. As a fitness freak enthusiast, I didn’t like the idea of not doing any workout so I busted ZWOW#9 which might be a bad idea given I’ve been fasted for at least 16 hours but still finished it nonetheless.

Afterward, I made a big dish of mixed stir fry broccoli, cauliflower, carrot with chicken. Hubby K could tell you that I was on the verge of being b*tchy as my body might start hating me for fasting. He on the other hand was fine with it and he actually liked the idea of fasting so he could get all the greasiness from last night dinner out from his body.

And this was the only dish we had for the day. We didn’t have any dinner either.

Plus what’s better than sipping a cup of warm bone broth in this chilly rainy weather?

Today when we got up, it was sunny but very cold and windy (around 50-60°F). I know it’s nothing compared to a frigid 20°F snowy weather. If you’re experiencing that weather, I’m sympathize you. As I wasn’t satisfied with my ZWOW#9 performance yesterday, I busted it out and this time I could complete a solid 3 rounds!

We had to go do some grocery shopping at Sprouts and Costco. One bad thing for shopping in empty stomach, I ended up getting stuff that I usually don’t get.

Yes I’m completely aware that potato chips is one of my kryptonite guilty pleasure food but I trust myself to have better control over it. Besides, after an extensive search, I could finally find a decent potato chips that are not cooked in industrial seeds oils!

Dark chocolate is good for you and 80% cacao is bitter enough for regular people, but for me this is a perfection.

Before you roll your eyes how much I’ve derailed my shopping list, I also stocked up paleo friendly emergency stash like Aidells Chicken Hot Dogs, which were only available today at my local Costco, frozen shrimps (not pictured) and boneless Australian lamb leg (which I already submerged in salt brine).

We didn’t have our first meal (plus another cup of bone broth) of the day until around noon, which made us fasting again for about 17 hours.

The only difference, today we would still have our dinner, although in a smaller portion than usual.

So those were my off rails. My workouts, however, were quite solid. I even managed to beat my old PR for one of Zuzana’s older Bodyrock.tv workout.

Lately I’ve been in “love” working out with my sandbag and whipped up myself quite a bit :p

I also started taking Fermented Cod Liver Oil/Butter Oil Blend (1 tsp everyday in the morning), and Vitamin D (once every 2 days) to increase my Vitamin D level. I’m hoping to retest my Vit. D level after I’m doing this for at least 2 months.

And in between off-rail eats, I still maintained pretty clean eats:

1. Does your eating pattern a bit different during weekend?
I noticed that I eat a bit less during weekend (sometimes just 2 solid meals with some snacks in between) while during weekday I’d have 3 solid meals (bfast, lunch, dinner and sometimes a bit snacks in between). This week was the first time that I actually tried IF (Intermittent Fasting). It’s not like I’d do this regularly weekly but it might be nice to throw my body off balance once in a blue moon.

2. Would you like to attend a Paleo event? (next would be the one in Boston this coming August)
Over the weekend I’ve been enjoying reading PaleoFx recaps from some other bloggers and secretly envious of their good times. One of the biggest highlight for attending the event was to mingle with the paleo online bloggers in person and who knows in the end we could become real life friends. As much as I want to go, I am still unsure whether I will go in August. After calculating the airline costs, registration fees and other costs, it kinda makes me think…A LOT. We’ll see.

3. Do you go to same restaurant more than once and order the same dishes as before?

Have a great Sunday!
