Fiddling with Codes, Scripts and Eats
Welcome to my self-hosted blog! As you can see, I’m still working on some details here and there. Believe me, today I’ve been sitting on my ass for almost the entire day, fiddling with the plug ins, CSS, scripts, codes just to get things look right! I’ll talk more on this later but lets move on the eats first!
I was craving for eggs so I made 3 over easy fried eggs with 2 slices of sweet potatoes, drizzled with some Coconut Aminos.
Then we went out to Costco to get plastic wrap (we got that big box of food wrap) and Farmer’s Market to stock some strawberries.
I picked the box with this funky looking strawberry.
For lunch I made Homemade Tomato Sauce and mixed them with the remaining seasoned minced chicken from Coconut Lemonade Custard Chicken to make Jambalaya Inspired Minced Chicken.
And I sat on my ass for the entire afternoon working on this blog – from transferring the posts, comments, installing plug ins, widgets, learning php, scripts etc. Finally, I decided I couldn’t do this anymore so I kicked my own ass with Bodyrock.tv workout.
Dinner was whatever leftover from lunch plus some steamed sweet potatoes. I ran out of my baked sweet potatoes so I just steamed them. It was faster but I think I still prefer the baked ones.
So back to the topic earlier. I mentioned that I wasn’t going to self host this blog, especially that my blog isn’t as big and popular as others out there, but the whole things changed after I decided I’d start putting up my work samples online. Since I already have my own hosting server for my work stuff, might as well I use it for my blog too right? Besides with my background in codes and design, it will be a good opportunity for me to get my feet wet in web development. Not to mention, I noticed my pictures appear a bit better than before.
Do you plan to self host your blog in the future? If you already do, do you like it better than the free ones?

I thought about self-hosting, but never went through with it. Let us know later what the pros and cons are?
Yea, good for you! I host my own blog. I am using wordpress but may switch to something else in the future. Not that many people read my blog but I still like customizing it and playing around with the settings and stuff. I currently am responsible for several sites, and plan to eventually make my own wordpress theme. I have also thought of eventually just using rails, cakephp, or django to just do my own thing completely. What languages do you program in? I am not very good, lol but I love playing around with frameworks and trying to teach myself to write code, albeit badly! BTW the eggs look delish 🙂
