As you might notice, I am a big fan of Coconut Aminos, one of Coconut Secrets product. I’ve been using them in my various recipes as soy sauce substitute ever since I embrace the Paleo lifestyle.

One time when I was browsing their site, I saw these Coconut Bars and was so happy that I could finally find some snack bars that are soy free, gluten free, grain free and low sugar content. Coconut Secrets was generous enough to send me all the flavors to sample so I could review these and share my thoughts to all of you.

There are 4 flavors total: Classic Coconut Bar, Almond Coconut Bar, Macaroon Coconut Bar and Mint Coconut Bar.

I like the simplicity of the Classic Coconut Bar. Basically it’s dark chocolate coated bar with some kind of coconut filling inside. The sweet taste is just about right. As a non sweet tooth person, it’s just perfect for me. Besides I am a fan of dark chocolate.

The Almond Coconut Bar might be one of my favorite. Just like the Classic Coconut, it’s also covered in dark chocolate overall with coconut cream filling inside. What I like about, it has the crunchiness from the almond bits, which I like. In case you don’t know, I like anything that’s crunchy.

I am not a big fan of mint flavor but this Mint Coconut Bar surely changed my taste buds! I enjoyed the fresh mint taste combined with the nutty coconut cream plus some cacao nibs. Definitely refreshing. Can I say this would be my second favorite bar?

The Macaroon Coconut Bar is a bit different. Unlike the other two, it wasn’t all dark chocolate covered, instead it’s half coconut and half dark chocolate.

I would recommend storing these bars in the fridge so they will be firm. Since the main ingredient is coconut, it might become soft in room temperature, especially as the weather warming up.

Overall Coconut Secrets Coconut Bars are really yummy and will make great additions for emergency snack stash. That being said however, these are meant for when there aren’t healthy food choices, especially on the road. After all real foods are still the greatest nutrition source.
