Recovering from Vacation Blues
The worst feeling I ever have is the time when I realize vacation is over now back to reality. BLAH! I slept in a bit today and no workout at all as I am still recovering from vacation mode. Seriously, after an entire week of being pampered and such, I feel like I’m being spoiled.
Our fridge was entirely EMPTY and we had NO produce/meat so we stormed off to 2 grocery stores: Superking Market for fruits and veggies and Sprouts for the meat!
Seems like it’s already grapes season? I got these grapes from Superking Market (79 cent/lb) and Sprouts (69cents/lb)
I’m SO GLAD Superking Market finally starts carrying this 100% extra virgin cold pressed avocado oil for much cheaper! If this continues, I’ll cancel my La Tourangelle Avocado Oil Subscribe & Save Subscriptions on Amazon.
Since we both didn’t have any breakfast prior grocery shopping and I knew I had to make something quick for lunch so I bought Sprouts Cajun Chicken Sausages.
I love Sprouts for another reason: their bulk bins! I munched some of macadamia nuts as I was so hungry. All bulk bins are on sale now (25% off) so I hauled a pound of macadamia nuts.
After I came back home, I quickly made roasted broccoli, steamed cauliflower and pan fried the chicken sausages.
Lunch was ready in 30 minutes.
After I finished lunch, I made some beef stew for our dinner. This time I used Kerrygold grass fed butter, added some Japanese sweet potatoes and seasoned everything with balsamic vinegar, salt, black pepper, all spice seasoning and cooked everything in my pressure cooker.
For my afternoon snacks, I think you have some idea. 🙂
Since I already made the beef stew, all I need to do for veggies was roasting more broccoli.
I know I mentioned earlier that I am recovering from post vacation blues, but on the other hand I’m happy to be back to my typical eats again. Nothing beats homecooked food, no matter how simple they are- well the simpler the better, don’t you think?
For those who are wondering about my vacation post, don’t worry, I am working on it and hopefully I could at least post partially. 😀
