How married couple celebrate their anniversary?
My husband and I took a day off today because it’s our 3 year wedding anniversary. We don’t have quite a grand plan of how to celebrate our wedding anniversary, mainly we just want to spend our time together instead of be at work. Besides it’s good to take a day off in the middle of the week, right?
So what exactly we did? First off, we got to sleep in..until 7:30 am…and I didn’t workout in the early morning like I usually do. We had some simple breakfast, mainly bread and hot tea. I have a glass of unsweetened vanilla almond milk in addition.
It was so nice to have a breakfast together, chatted and just chilled in this weekday morning, where usually we are in the office.
After we talked about what we should do, we decided to go to some shopping mall and have lunch and just walk around. We went off to the Block of Orange!
When we were dating, we usually came here just to hang out and walked around and it was always super packed during weekend evenings! It always took us a while to get parking. So it was so great when we got there around noon, parking was plenty and it wasn’t crowded at all! Of course, it’s midday of the week, where most people are at work!
We walked around, got into some shops, I got some clothing from Ann Taylor and my husband just patiently waiting for me. I’d say he is a great man. He doesn’t mind me wandering around the clothing store, trying on clothing etc. In fact, unlike any other men that I’ve known (who usually just sit down outside the store while waiting for their gf or wives finished their shopping), my husband would actually pick some clothing that he thinks I might like or might look good on me!
After I finished paying for my clothing, we decided to have lunch at this seafood restaurant called “Market Broiler.”
The restaurant wasn’t crowded at all. There were some people around, but it was a nice atmosphere. We came to this place once a while back when we were still dating and this place was super packed! We had to wait at least 15 minutes to get our table. Maybe because it was dinner time.
After we were seated, the waiter brought this nice warm and crispy sourdough bread. I was quite hungry so I took a slice with a pat of butter. Yummm..soo good!
Anyway, I ordered Hawaiian Mahi Lunch combo, which came with 2 side dishes (I picked steamed veggies and tomato slices).
My husband ordered Crab cake sandwich which came with fries.
We also ordered 2 alcohol drinks, which the waiter almost forgot to make. We usually don’t drink but for today it was an exception.
The food was pretty good. I finished my plate, but my hubby didn’t finish the fries. He said the crab cake was a bit too greasy for him. I did take a bite of the crab cake and it was good but totally greasy. I won’t devour that thing because I’ll binge. I didn’t touch the fries at all, even though it was super tempting. We managed to finish the martini and we both got pretty dizzy and red face. Haha…I thought I was drunk or something because my head was pretty spinning when we got out from the restaurant. Anyway, after walked around couple blocks and I got more stuff from Old Navy and some other place, we went to Tutti Frutti for froyo. Since my hubby wasn’t a big fan of froyo, we just shared one cup of plain-raspberry froyo topped with kiwi, blueberries and blackberries.
It was my first time having froyo at Tutti Frutti. Little I knew, you pretty much serve yourself. After you picked the froyo flavor and toppings, you brought it to the counter and they’ll weigh it. I was supposed to get plain froyo but instead I got mixture of plain and raspberry. I didn’t see the dispenser was in between plain and raspberry. Oh well, it was still good.
On the way home we were stopping by at a market to get some stuff and we decided to get Mediterranean food as our take out for dinner! Good thing was the restaurant was just right next to the market that we went. We got beef koobideh combo plate and combination koobideh (chicken and beef). The meal came with cucumber yogurt, 2 persian salad (Shirazi) and pita bread.
For some reason, I felt like to crank up my workout so I did it before having the dinner. It was tough at first because I was still a bit dizzy from the martini I had earlier for lunch. But in the end I had a decent sweaty workout! My hubby also did his own workout next to me.
Phew, quite a day for a married couple celebrating their wedding anniversary huh? It doesn’t have to be always candle light dinner, right? The most important thing is we had a good time, regardless of what we did. š
